Intentionally breaking design rules can be so much fun, and “a still life should be in the kitchen/dining room” is an old design rule that works well but doesn't need to be strictly followed. I think this painting would look lovely in a sun-lit closet or dressing area - it's a gem of a painting that will encourage a relieving breath wherever it lives.
