This piece was a surprise, as the best often are! I had been painting with more detail, but this more abstract piece came as the result of a practice of painting multiple still lives within a constrained period of time.
Part of the purpose of this exercise is to move your mind out of the way so you can link your hand to your eye and allow beauty to come through!
This is the only piece from that practice in this collection. Dappled light lavishes these lemons and feels both clear and true. You can feel the warmth!
